- Abstract submission: 750-word summary of paper. Reviewers decide whether contribution is accepted for presentation at the DASC as talk or poster (anonymous, double-blind review)
- Full-paper submission: 5-10 page full paper. Reviewers decide whether paper is accepted for publication in the DASC proceedings (anonymous, double-blind review)

3. Panel Session
Proposing a panel discussion is a new type of contribution to the DASC program. A limited number of panel sessions will be included as technical session in the technical program. All panelists must register for the conference. Panel sessions may be proposed as either 1 or 2 hours in duration. Any panel proposal must match at least one field of interest of the conference.
3.1 | PANEL PROPOSAL SUBMISSION
Abstract submission is the only entry point to propose a panel for DASC. Any submission must be made before the abstract deadline. Expectation is an extended abstract summarizing the details of the proposed panel. Some ideas for panels are:
- Contrasting Perspectives Panels - Multiple panels focused on different perspectives on a topic. For instance, one focused on industry’s perspectives on a topic and the other (on a different day) focused on the government’s perspectives on the same topic.
- Competing Panels – A panel that focuses on two or more competing implementations to solve a problem. This could be comparable to the old CNN show “Crossfire.” Rules would have to be established.
- Collaborative Perspectives Panel – A panel that incorporates numerous perspectives approaches as the diverse participants attempt to work together to find an acceptable solution to the topic. For instance, Machine Learning and Regulation.
- (other suggestions are welcome)
What you need:
- Title (150 chars)
- 150 words synopsis (short summary of panel)
- 750 words max extended abstract of planned panel. Will be used for deciding on acceptance. It should contain a brief summary of motivation, objectives (e.g., questions to answer), list of panelists, moderator, format, and time plan. Can use basic formatting, but not figures or plots.
- All moderators and panelists must be named with their affiliation and email. You should have agreement from all participants (but this can be updated in the panel details stage, but should already be complete and convincing in the proposal stage)
- The time slot required; either 60, 90, or 120 minutes.
Submission portal: (submission portal opens later)
- An account for Oxford Abstracts is needed or must be created during submission.
- You have to use the email for the registration that will be the single contact for the panel coordination!
Outcome (send on panel notification date):
- Feedback
- Reviewer’s comments on your panel proposal. Please take this into account when further planning the panel.
- Decision
- Accepted as panel: your proposal is accepted as a technical panel in the DASC program. You will have to provide details
- Rejected: your proposal was not accepted. No further action required
3.2 | PANEL DETAILS SUBMISSION
